It won’t only be Australia’s best rugby players and their supporters crossing the Tasman for the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations decider in Auckland on 21 st July. Australian desert limes in syrup will be part of the corporate box cuisine for the big rugby match.

Newly imported into New Zealand the desert limes with exceptional flavour and an intriguing background will provide added interest to the corporate box menu from Michael O’Brien’s catering at Eden Park.

A Gardening Expo for young and old- desert lime trees a hit!

It was great to meet so many people at the expo and offer tastings of our products. Lots of you bought the desert lime seedlings which we had for sale - in fact we sold out on the second day! We enjoyed chatting with you about the products that are all made from desert limes we have harvested, and giving gardening tips to those who now have now a little desert lime tree of their own

Andrew Mirosch joined Channel Nine Queensland in January 2005 and is the resident Chef on the new lifestyle program Saturday Afternoon. We were delighted that Andrew visited the Australian Desert Limes plantation to see the harvesting in mid-November 2006. His culinary skills are legendary in his home town of Brisbane. He designed a dish using the limes and showed this on the segment "tastes of Queensland" Saturday Afternoon Show.

Slow Food news for Australian Desert Limes!
See ADL featured in the Slow Food "Snail Pace" June 2005 magazine, to read click here.

Jock and Mina Douglas flew to Turin for the 5 day Terra Madre event in October - sponsored by
Slow Food Australia. "The experience was very valuable for us. We made lots of new friends and established many contacts. There was much to learn there from farmers around the world and from Australia. There was much to learn also from the displays of food products and the people who produced them. Both the farming/ horticultural part of our business and our value-adding production will benefit from new knowledge we have gained. We are very appreciative of the support provided by Slow Food Queensland and the Slow Food movement in Italy that enabled us to attend." For more information visit the Terra Madre and Slow Food websites.
